João-de-Barro Pendant

Made of 950 sterling silver, this pendant features the delicate shape of a joão-de-barro, a small South American bird known for building clay nest homes, perched on its tiny house. The bird is plated with 18k gold, creating a soft and symbolic contrast between the earthy nest and the golden bird. I created this piece because in my hometown, nearly every utility pole has a little joão-de-barro house. They are part of the landscape, part of everyday life and memory.
